Introducing your dog to a collar and lead
When you take the time to properly introduce your dog or puppy to the collar and lead, it sets the stage for teaching basic elements of obedience. The goal is to have your puppy or dog accept a collar and lead calmly, without resistance. Collars should be introduced right away. Don't be concerned if he initially scratches at it or shakes his head; soon he won't even notice it.
